If your idea of a good time involves hordes of monsters, screen-filling abilities and enough loot to make a dragon jealous, The Slormancer could be right up your street.
The 2D action RPG dungeon crawler has arrived on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the Standard Edition priced at £20.99 and a £24.99 Deluxe Edition offering a 48-hour early unlock.
Published by Plug In Digital and Abiding Bridge, and developed by Slormite Studios, The Slormancer sends players into battle against an army of enemies led by the titular villain. You’ll be starting from a rather unpromising position – apparently born with absolutely no skill whatsoever – but there’s a realm to save, and someone has to do it.

Three Classes, Hundreds Of Ways To Cause Trouble
The Slormancer lets you choose between a Mighty Knight, Fierce Huntress or Mischievous Mage, each offering a different route into its fast-paced combat. There’s plenty to experiment with, thanks to more than 200 abilities, upgrades and passives, with individual skill trees allowing you to build combinations that suit your preferred approach.
Then there’s the Ancestral Skill Tree, where more than 150 elemental skills and passives open up further possibilities. Fire, Ice, Thunder, Light and Shadow all bring their own flavour to the fight, whether you’re freezing enemies in place, summoning elementals or unleashing storms across the battlefield.
The Loot Never Really Stops
Of course, no dungeon crawler worth its salt would be complete without an enormous pile of equipment to collect. The Slormancer offers 120 unique Slorm Reapers, powerful weapons that can be levelled up and evolved as you progress. You’ll also find everything from ordinary equipment to rare and epic items, alongside legendary gear featuring more than 200 unique affixes.
There’s an impressive amount of flexibility here, too. Previously unlocked abilities, collected weapons and equipment can be swapped around, and you can even change between the three character classes. That makes experimenting with different builds far less of a chore, encouraging you to try new combinations rather than feeling locked into one particular approach.
A Realm Full Of Monsters To Conquer
Your adventures will take you through seven different environments, with procedurally generated encounters keeping the action varied. Unique monsters, elites and bosses bring their own challenges, with more than 40 different affixes adding further complications. Beyond the regular adventures, there are also destinations such as The Slorm Temple, The Great Forge and the Netherworld, where the Warlords await.
Loadouts, loot filters and customisable controls are all part of the package, alongside a pixel-art presentation and a soundtrack that the developers clearly have considerable faith in. There’s even a village populated by what sounds like a rather unusual collection of residents.
With so many abilities, weapons and possible builds to explore, The Slormancer looks ready to keep dungeon-crawling fans busy for a considerable time. The Deluxe Edition‘s 48-hour early unlock provides an opportunity to get started ahead of the Standard Edition on November 5th, but whichever version you choose from the Xbox Store, there’s a rather large collection of monsters waiting to discover just how little talent you started with.
