And almost like clockwork, a September Nintendo Direct is upon us. Correct: Nintendo Directs, plural, as fans are being graced with back-to-back broadcasts. Nintendo made the announcement via its official X account:

The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct on Sept 8 at 7am PT (Approx 30 mins)

The first Direct is on 09.08.26 at 7 AM PST and is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. Besides the requisite festivities and commemorations that are likely on the way, fans are doubtlessly expecting news on the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which is slated to drop later this year. The leak of an Ocarina of Time-themed Switch 2 consoles means that fans will also be on the look out for news of it, as well. The broadcast is said to be 30 minutes long.
The second Direct hits on 09.09.26, a day later, also at 7 AM PST. It’s a general Direct dedicated to all things Nintendo Switch 2 and will be 45 minutes long. While Zelda is sure to occupy the hearts and minds of the masses, this second Direct will give everyone a better idea of what’s coming down the pike for Switch 2 for the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
